How do I know if a Physiotherapist is fully qualified?

To use the title Chartered Physiotherapist you must be a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) and registered with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC). These are our professional/regulatory bodies and members adhere to a strict code of practice. By choosing to see a Chartered and HPC registered Physiotherapist you have the security of being advised/treated by a competent clinician. Chris Barton is registered with both and you may check his registration at

Of course. You may need a translator, or you may want a bit of moral support, or you may need to bring children with you, whatever the reason, patient's escorts are always welcome. Your escorts may also join your session if you are happy for them to do so.

Will I have to do anything specific between treatments?

To achieve the best possible treatment outcome, teamwork between the Physiotherapist and the Patient is absolutely essential. Being actively involved in your recovery really gets results.
